LifeHealthcare acquires AustSpine
LifeHealthcare is pleased to announce the acquisition of AustSpine Pty Ltd.
In late 2009, it was identified that there was a strategic fit between LifeHealthcare and AustSpine, and negotiations were subsequently entered into. Chief Executive Officer of LifeHealthcare, Daren McKennay, says “AustSpine has demonstrated strong growth in a very competitive market over a relatively short period of time and, combined with our existing strength in the market, the collective business is well placed to accelerate growth and market share”.
In particular, when added to LifeHealthcare’s existing product ranges – specifically, the K2M range – this partnership delivers LifeHealthcare and its Spine team with an opportunity to take a leading market position in the Australian spine market.
Jeff Reid, formerly Managing Director of AustSpine, now assumes the executive leadership position as General Manager of the Spine Division within LifeHealthcare. In addition to Jeff, Paul Petherbridge, Shane Collins and Helen Oyston from AustSpine have also joined LifeHealthcare.
