Gelitaspon® Fast and effective hemostasis
Gelita absorbable hemostatic sponges are made of Alpha-Gelatin or Pharmaceutical Gelatin. It is a purified protein obtained by partial acidic hydrolysis of collagen, known as Collagen Hydrolysate. This protein is composed of 18 of 20 human amino acids. It is the most frequently occurring protein in humans and the most important functional building block of intercellular connective and supports tissue. Pharmaceutical gelatin has superior hemostatic capabilities and is totally resorbed, with no residue and no encapsulation. The FDA has classified Pharmaceutical Gelatin as GRAS (Generally Recognised as safe) and has been used in over 200 million procedures. DuraSeal® Xact Dural Sealant System
The DuraSeal® Xact System features the innovative DuraSeal polyethylene glycol (PEG) hydrogel sealant delivered through its proprietary MicroMyst Applicator. It is sprayed onto the dura following standard suture closure. It creates an effective seal and stays in place for four to eight weeks while dural tissue healing occurs naturally beneath it. The air-assisted Micro-Myst Applicator with flexible, multi-lumen shaft ensures smooth, precise application of the sealant without compromising visualisation of the target site. DuraSeal is 100% synthetic which gives a TRUE watertight closure.
Oxiplex® Adhesion Barrier
Oxiplex® from FzioMed acts as a mechanical barrier, preventing excessive epidural fibrosis without affecting normal dural and tissue healing following surgical dissection or disruption. Oxiplex has had no device related adverse events since its introduction in 2002. Oxiplex is a 100% synthetic, highly versatile gel / film for spinal, orthopaedic, gynaecological and aesthetic applications. Spinal applications include discectomies to serve as a temporary mechanical barrier separating opposing tissue surfaces as well as adjunct to posterior lumbar laminectomy, laminotomy or fusion procedures for reducing pain, radiculopathy, lower extremity weakness and severity of postoperative adhesions.
MiMedx Hydrofix Anti-Adhesion Patches
The MiMedx HyrdroFix™ Vaso Shield is a permanent, thick and easy to handle anti-adhesion barrier which is transparent, MRI visible, hydrophilic and strong and is made of a mixture of polyvinyl, alcohol and water. Available in two thickness of 1mm in 6cm x 10cm and 5cm x 6cm sheets and 0.6mm in 6cm x 10cm and 5cm x 6cm sheets. These sheets are easy to cut to size during surgery and can be sutured into place using non-absorbent sutures with non-cutting needles. HydroFix comes hydrated, sterile and ready to use. HydroFix can be used during:- revision, fusion, adjacent level, artificial disc implantation, implant or hardware removal, trauma and vascular surgeries in the spine.
