ifactor

i-FACTOR™

i-FACTOR™ Putty combines a unique anorganic bone mineral (ABM) and small peptide (P-15™) that acts as an attachment factor for specific integrins on osteogenic cells. This novel mechanism of action enhances the body’s natural bone healing process resulting in safe, predictable bone formation. The handling characteristics of i-FACTOR Putty allow it to be used in contained implants such as spinal interbody fusion devices.

Product Components

  • P-15™ Small Peptide – i-FACTOR technology is based on the biological activity resulting from a synthetic form of a 15-amino acid peptide found in Type I human collagen. Type I human collagen is the primary organic component found in autograft bone.
  • Anorganic Bone Mineral (ABM) – ABM’s structure provides the optimal surface for irreversible electrostatic binding of P-15. ABM is a naturally porous bone scaffold with a physiological rate of resorption, resulting in a substrate favorable to osteogenic cell growth and formation.
  • Hydrogel Carrier – i-FACTOR Putty uses carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), an inert and biocompatible hydrogel, to aid in the handling and placement of the ABM/P-15 particles at the graft site.

Handling Instructions

  • i-FACTOR™ Putty should only be used in surgical procedures where it can be adequately contained in an implant device or within the bony void or defect.
  • Avoid pressurizing the treatment site as a result of overfilling the containment device or bony void.
  • Encourage hemostasis in the wound by keeping the surgical site dry.
  • Irrigate prior to placing i-FACTOR Putty, per accepted standard bone grafting techniques.

orthoss

Orthoss

Orthoss® is a natural bone substitute material made from the mineral part of bovine bone. This inorganic matrix has a micro- and macroporous structure very similar to human bone. Orthoss® is structurally integrated into the surrounding bone and incorporated into the physiological remodelling process.

As a result of the excellent biofuntionality, Orthoss® is an ideal bone graft substitute, It can also be used as a matrix in combination with autologous bone or as a matrix in combination with bone marrow aspirate in the reconstruction of aseptic bone defects. This includes the repair of defects following trauma, reconstruction in orthopaedics and in spinal surgery.

Orthoss® is available in different sized granules and assorted block dimensions.

            Orthoss® (REM 50x)                                        Human bone (REM 50x

Why do leading surgeons use Orthoss®?

  • Orthoss® exhibits excellent biofunctionality and has both osseointegration and osteoconductivity.
  • The unique interconnecting pore structure and natural pore morphology facilitate rapid osseointegration.
  • Synthetic materials do not provide a physiologically equivalent pore system. This impairs their biological properties.
  • Orthoss® is ideal for expanding the volume of autologous bone.
  • Excellent hydrophilicity and capillarity allow complete and spontaneous penetration of fluid.
  • Orthoss® is easy and safe to handle.
  • Over 20 years of experience substantiate the high efficacy and safety of Orthoss®

Kasios_JectOS

Kasios JectOS

JectOS is a composition of 55% DCPD (dicalcium phosphate dihydrated) and 45% TCP (tricalcium phosphate). It has a 40% porosity and a pore size less than 5 μm. JectOS sets in 9 to 11 minutes including a working time of 4 to 5 minutes. It has a reaction temperature of 43°C – 45°C. Once set, JectOS has a compression strength of approximately 35 Mpa. When JectOS is implanted inside a bone defect in close apposition with human bone, it will reabsorb with time and will be replaced simultaneously by new bone. This allows JectOS to have very good osseointegration thanks to its bioresorption and osseoconductive abilities. Being completely synthetic there is no risk of disease transmission. JectOS is biocompatible, bioresorbable, bioconductive and a has good osseointegration. It is easy to use, radiopaque and can be injected minimally invasively. JectOS is available in 5cc and 10cc volumes.

Kasios_TCP_Granules

Kasios TCP Granules

Kasios TCP Chemical composition βTCP (99.9%). βTCP is a calcium phosphate molecule similar to the mineral phase of the natural bone.atures and Benefits Biocompatible: no reaction to foreign body. Bioresorbable: replaced by natural bone. Interconnected porosity: encourages a quick and proper osseointegration. Synthetic: no risk of immune response, no risk of cross contamination, no risk of disease transmission. Ready to use: decreases surgery time. Radiopaque: allows for a long term follow up. Granules: fill irregularly shaped cavities.
